When honesty is introduced from the beginning...
There is no reason for excuses,
To fake a chase to cover lies later on!
There is something about this activity,
That leaves one without credibility...
And a voice more effective,
When silence is the only thing heard!

I like how you have taken a piece of homespun wisdom and crafted it into a poem of such grandeur. In that the simplicity of thesubject is overrided by the mastery of the form. This is lovely Lawrence and has a feel of Niedecker about it.
