Jenny Miller

Iraq - Poem by Jenny Miller

i need time alone
time by myself
free from the constant noise
free from the incessant sounds

i cant stand being here
at the computer every hour
typing away
none of this matters

but i get so caught up
in the endless information
it fills my mind
and i cant unwind

i need breath to live
i need to take in the air slowly
all this technology is eating me alive
taking my soul
and drowning it
so it cant breathe

i need solace
piece of mind

i need my soul to be free
from society
