Is The Filial Bond Snapping? Poem by Nabakishore Dash

Is The Filial Bond Snapping?

Relationship, once
as clear as the autumn
river water, is now
densely turbid.
Selfism, materialism;
the roiled sediments,
have pervaded lives and are
growing like the garden weed.

Filial duty and social obligations
have taken a backseat.
Old age homes are
mushrooming in our country
to heal and look after
their geriatric needs.

Do we find a jackfruit
without the oozing
adhesive fluid?
Never is(was, will be) there
a man sans those traits,
but crossing the limit,
in search of more and more,
has ruined.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Filial bond is thinning due to excessive self interest, materialism and digital clutter.
