Invisible But Awful Poem by Nabakishore Dash

Invisible But Awful

Rating: 5.0

Corona virus is invisible
to the naked eye,
looks horrible and dreadful
in mobile and television.
Can cause fatality in humans,
has already sent millions
to the land of death,
by its power of rapid invasion
of vital systems to cease and
desist their functions.

No one knows the number of
pandemic waves, variants, exact
statistics of death and recovery.
But its disrupting capacity to
man- made systems is enhancing
man's worry.

Huge transport systems in land,
water and air have been suspended, thrown into disorder.
Lives, lively hood, life-styles
are in disarray, our minds
are thinking of danger and horror.

Neither it recognises any
geographical barrier nor
the power, position, possession,
gender, caste, color and religion.
Infects every body, rich and poor,
reminding us all that we are
similar insignificant humans.

Worships and prayers, rules
and rituals in all sacred places
by holy men have utterly failed
to stamp out the invisible.
All our power,
mental, physical, instrumental
weaponry, even the strong
military and police don't enable
us to remain comfortable.

This grave concern does teach
us universal brother- hood to
remain united and one.
Our modes of living should be
harmonious with Nature that
warns to stop its subjugation.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Man should lead a very simple life in harmony with nature.
