Whenever they mentioned his name, peaceful I became
But it was to run his own errands when he came
No body cared when I came home so late
It was evening when to my home I came
I'm not skilfull in the manners of living
To stay for sometime in your city I came
It was ready to rise high in the sky
But the minaret tumbling down to the ground came
I came to his festivities all empty handed
But my rival was showed off when he came

qarar dil ko sada jis ke nam se aaya
JAMAL EHSANI
qarār dil ko sadā jis ke naam se aayā
vo aayā bhī to kisī aur kaam se aayā
maiñ ḳhālī haath hī jā pahuñchā us kī mahfil meñ
mirā raqīb baḌe intizām se aayā
