The calendar tells
that spring is still
a wistful distance away.
Do Canada Geese
now winging west
have something different to say?
So soothing to know that spring will arrive as do the geese from Canada. We had nice warm weather here in California this past weekend, in the mid 70's, it was a nice treat.
nice to see your comment, luz. thank you! we had a treat of a day yesterday—sunny, low 50s, with almost no wind. now may we get the rain we need—there and here. -glen
This is very mellifluous! I especially like wistful distance!
you like mellifluous, eh suzanne? if you read the comment below, susan read my original wishful as wistful, and i thought, that's closer to what i meant and has a better sound. yay! for input. thanks for taking the time to comment! -glen
The calendar tells that spring is still a wishful distance away.- - -Absolutely perfect! ! ! ! Doesn't it feel great when there can be no improvement to a verse! ! ! ! ? ? ? ? Wistful- - no better adjective exists for this line! ! ! 10++++++++++++++++++++++
hey, susan! thank you for the affirmation. now the word in the poem, as it reads above as i type out this reply, is wishful. but, wistful is the better word—so thanks! i'm gonna change it. -glen

Natural animal and plants sense the change of season immediately and we can find change in their behaviour.Spring is the most awaited season where winter is too harsh. Here in India, mango trees blooms in Spring and we can see blossoms on many mango trees.Yes, Spring is already here.
hi, bharati! good to see your comment—thank you! here in the high desert at 35 degrees north latitude, i think of spring starting in february. forsythia and other early flowers show themselves starting things off—with the climax being in may when there is so much beauty of sight and sound and fragrance it almost aches to think about it. yes, spring is definitely my favorite season. many blessings to you on the other side of the world. -glen
