Jingle Bills Poem by soren Barrett

Jingle Bills

Rating: 5.0

Instead of bearded Odin riding an eight legged horse
Now we have Santa with eight reindeer of course
In the place of honoring the sun god's death and rebirth
Now we honor the son of God coming to earth
Christmas trees, witch balls, and yule logs you may say
Are all pagan; but none more so, than our own Black Friday

' 'Black Friday' (of course) in the U.S.A. is the day after Thanksgiving, when many retail stores have 'sales' and shoppers are encouraged to wear off some weight shopping. ;) '

It's too bad 'Friday' doesn't have its second syllable accented normally. But, in any case, I give 5 stars. bri : ) p.s. I MAY be a PAGAN, but I don't belivee in ANY god/God. I used to (and in Santa) .

'The Witches ball is still today used extensively[citation needed] throughout Sussex, England and continues to hold great superstition with regard to warding off evil spirits'

'In the 1950s, factory managers first started referring to the Friday after Thanksgiving as Black Friday because so many of their workers decided to falsely call in sick, thus extending the holiday weekend.' '
