Kept To Learn Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Kept To Learn

Ignoring what takes place.
Seldom makes it disappear from ears to hear.
Or fade away to stay out of sight.
Even having enough of it.
Seems to give it validation to sit.
As if it had permission.
But a changing one's routine.
With an approach to view it differently.
Could provide it an appearance before not seen.
And an acceptance just may occur.
By allowing what it is to become appreciated.
As a lesson from it to remember.
Kept to learn to never forget.
What had been taught.
With a door upon it can finally close.
And whatever it was to have annoyed,
No longer does to do.
When one removes the attention given to it.
To move on and let it be,
A lesson to remember for what it gives.
