A very inspiring poem and translation! शायद एक दिन मैं भी जाऊं इस यात्रा पे और इस सुन्दरता को खोजूं मेरे दिल से
It is always a pleasure to see group effort. Poem by Sister Frances, translation by your favourite poetess Kavita Singh and the finishing strokes given by you. Reading the poem Kerala made me nostalgic of my native land. The beauty of Kerala mesmerises you! Great work and coordination. Thank you Unni!
Thank you Geeta, for the encouraging words. Sure, the poem by Frances is of very high standard, as you can see-I have posted it below. And Kavita has done the translation. All the good words are due to them I shall convey your appreciation to Kavita.
Hello My Dear Fellow Poets, As you are no longer able to read the original poem by Frances on ph, I post it here. I believe, I have her permission to do so. Kerala - Poem by Sister Frances They call it a treat for your soul Kerala is the place you should go Perhaps one day I'll come visit And discover the beauty you know Meditate in tea gardens on rolling slopes A serene land with rows of greenery Or go cruise on the water in a ferry While the sun sets that sounds merry Sit on a house boat gazing on backwaters Watching banks of palm trees go by Wander through jungle pathways It's a heavenly tropical paradise The beaches look pretty awesome I think I need to go visit soon With such stunning natural beauty I am thinking a second honeymoon ****
Hi, my friend. You asked if I have read this but although I found the words Log, din, is, mere, me, and hum to be English words I could not read the rest because my dear friend I cannot speak or read Hindi which looks like a lovely language. Thank you, though, for thinking of my delight had I been able to read it..
Hi Susan, Thank you. The only solution is to learn Hindi! Hehehe! ! ! Love And Regards -unnikrishnan
I have no Hindi but I'd love to hear it spoken. I might be able to copy your translation onto Google Translate as thet have a sound facility. In any event I'll read Sister Frances's poem. Kerala is I believe a very beautiful region of India. My Great aunt spoke fluent Hindi as she spent many years there. Her husband was an Engineer over in your country.
Hi Tom, Thank you for reading this poem of Frances. And your Indian connection, I am delighted to read of. Great. I hope that gives you ample reason to make visit to India/Kerala.. Let us hope we meet outside ph! ! ! !
An extremely beautiful poem.I have read Sister Frances' original work in English.Yes congrats to all three poets Sister Frances, Kavita Singh and Unnikrishnan E.S. for this wonderful poem. The Hindi rendering is so nice that one can not distinguish it from an original creative work.A sure 10 +++
Hi Bharati, So nice of you to read this translation of the exquisite poem by Frances. Her poem is so beautifully rendered, that I was emancipated, thrilled. On my request, Kavita did a beautiful translation in Hindi. I just helped her out a little here or there. A finishing touch or something like that. It is a matter of contention, whether I have been successful in the translation, in capturing the beauty of Frances' poem; I do not consider my rendering half that good. But Bharati, your words make my day. I know I have to improve a lot. That I will do, with your help and blessings. Thank you.
Thank you Bharati for your kind words and yes I am very thankful to have a wonderful friend who can translate my poems, it is indeed a great gift :)
