This is stunning, Richard. You mentioned something about editing words and finding new meanings. I first read the last line as the first. That was accidental. But the positioning of that last line really does shape the vision of the work. Kerouac himself would be inspired.

An Indigenous Man once suggested to me that I write a poem with the last line being the first and then continuing backwards. He believed that that perfectly epitomizes the history of Canada.
