Killing Time

Some say living is one way to kill it
but I say it's always there and always will be
cause it was there long before you and me
there's time to feel great, time to feel down
time to die, and time to be around

Good time, bad time
there's time when you work, time when you don't
one way to end it is ending your own

Sometimes I wonder if I live to see
where our children one day will be
are we to be cursed or to be thanked
for the things we had to offer
and for religion if people will still bother

Times that once brought love and war
brought also bureaucrats hiding behind the wall
created us a life that turned us against each other
brother against brother and son against his father
taught us to be greedy and always ask for more
and made us forget, that here we'll leave it all

They say things change towards better
you 'll change and soon it won't matter
but I can't cope to live that way
to see shame and look the other way
stop judgment and be open minded
cause this is the only way
to live your life away

Time, what can I do to freeze you over
so I can put things back in order
time, what have I done to deserve this day
every door is shut in my way
saying sorry this is'nt your day

What else can I say except to thank God and pray
I know one day all this will end
when I stop seeing far, and my hearing is dead
that will be the day when I'll call it
The End.

You have a political feel without being political. That's not easy. Nice work.(Report)Reply
