Kindred Spirits
We are kindred spirits
even though we've never met
we've never talked face to face
but somehow we connect
Through the power of words
we are heard
this connection is unique
it is nourishment for the soul
it is poetry
Kindred spirits always fly free
words are their wings that take them soaring
when the roads of life are shut down
kindred spirits through poetry can be found
these spirits keep us alive
propelling us forward to thrive
Kindred spirits may stay quiet for a while
but poetry will always be there
to greet them with a smile
