A beautiful poem! Like a bird in a cage, the water surrounded by land on all sides cannot flow freely like a stream or a river. The lake though with enormity of water has restricted movement and is stagnant! Stagnation sets in all lives where the freedom is restricted. A Very meaningful haiku and a sure 10... Rose Marie!

Oh! I never saw a lake or pond that way. Calm and trapped. No freedom, no play. This is elegant, original, and symbolic You have set my mind to spinning with thought. Awesome! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! 10++++ and onto my fav list
