Last Flicker Of An Old Flame Poem by James B. Earley

Last Flicker Of An Old Flame

Rating: 5.0

An old flame
Passed my way
I heard a voice
Within me say

Call out to her
And say hello
Another voice
Said oh no..no

What's done is done
Is done....is done
The Devil passed
Your way...my son

James, The soul shouts from depth silently... And a pain even more boundless... I Wish you healthy and calmnesses of soul... Tsira

Every line speaks. The dilemna is a real one and interesting. Beautifully phrased. Thanks James.

You've called out for and listened to the voice in you to become your guiding star...

I like that metaphysical side of the poetry when metaphors become kind of voices, flames passing the way. Wonderful example is this poem. The message is indirect and the voice (the metaphor) is open for interpretation. well penned!
