Late Night Ramble Poem by JOE POEWHIT

Late Night Ramble

Rating: 5.0

Place in the late hour.
Crying into my empty self.
Calling into nothingness.
Where is the ending of space?
All the letters in lower case.
World is full of shake.
Everyone on the take.
Scams the normal way.
Baby brother is far away.
Called all in the phone book.
Empty world, looking for fill.
Daddy is by the dripping still.
Home late and getting ill.
Just take that little pill.
Poem over had your fill.

Your writing style is distinct, completely different then the norm but wonderfully so. I have to read them twice sometimes to see exactly where you're going with them but when the finality hits I go 'oh yah true that' Keep up the great work.

Wow- really hit me in the gut. This is a courageous expression of a collective emptiness and search for some sort of 'fix'- any kind of fix to temporarily assuage that feeling- that many more people feel than would admit. It's the underbelly of our neatly wrapped and ribboned-tied society with more longing than fulfillment and more need than satisfaction. Real, desperate, and courageous in its honesty and bare-bones truth devoid of pretense. Excellent poem.

Interesting man, pretty depressing, but I often write similarly haha...i like this line in particular 'world is full of shake' for some reason that brought up alot of images for me.
