Alien Spaceman God - Poem by JOE POEWHIT

I look into heaven.
Stoned out after seven.
On my back alone.
All the stars shone.
All is your presence, GOD.
My back upon dirt sod.
Why a spaceship wonder?
That is man's simple blunder.
Who knows out in space.
We are your human race.
Energy matter to create.
Our souls inside its place.
We should worship you.
An alien from space true.
Looking out into deep space.
Only your size has place.
We look for flying saucers.
IMAGES, cloud our minds face.
GOD - you come from outer space.

from my book; - DREAMS 3 - published.2008

A good poem that truly pictures god as some see him, an alien from afar. well done :) (Report)Reply

‘…IMAGES, cloud our minds face. / GOD - you come from outer space.’

What image? Our mundane thoughts here used as metaphor…?

What we see is it delusion [as Hindu scripture says Non Dualist view]

By IMAGES Hindus believe in idolatry … worship Idols as reflected God
    Dualistic view…

A deep and contemplative poem … needs hearing [not reading] to sense [better word realize] the gamut of it…

Thank you Sir…for paying a kind ear to my question…
    Affection obliged…

Very very nice, it has a touch of philosophy and your own personality, very well written and gives something for the reader to walk away with (Report)Reply

Both space and religion fascinate me. You seem quite interested too. Understatement. Great poem. P. (Report)Reply

'GOD comes from outer space' - yes & took space in our brain as God centre.
Very much appropriate vision about heaven...
