Learn And Speak Only To Flatter Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Learn And Speak Only To Flatter

No one learns,
Without a teacher.
Whether taught,
By street scholars.
Or brilliant scientists.
And others in between.
Who seem to have,
The ability and capability...
To prove to many,
They can make anyone...
Accepting to believe,
Common sense to acquire...
And it to use,
Can actually be taught to fools.
If...
They dress the part.
With an impeccable look.
And an appearance given,
No one will detect or suspect...
There is an absence.
An absence of intelligence.
An absence of common sense.
And competence to show?
This to possess,
People could care less.
It is the image that impresses.
More than anything else,
To teach and do well...
With a kept smile.
A head that nods approvingly.
With words to learn and speak
Used only to flatter.
