Let Me Be With You Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Let Me Be With You

Rating: 5.0

Swim my friend
And take my spirit with you
In the icy waters of the Atlantic
Where peace only exist on earth
As the ill feelings creep in my mind
With too many wars
And hatred spreading like a fiery inferno
I don't want to be a part of it
But I am human
And cannot live in the ocean
However, I rather be missing at sea than
To watch the world burn

It is a pathetic state! "hatred spreading like a fiery inferno"… but, we poets would " rather be missing at sea than To watch the world burn"…

Great poem! I'm wondering who the friend is? (I'm assuming a whale?) If mankind' does not extinct themselves soon. Even the oceans will be cursed
