Let Me Go To City Market
Let me go to city market,
To bring grocery items for today,
Coarse flour of wheat is necessary
Spending money I shall buy.
To cook and make cakes from this,
For toady's tiffin we need,
Vegetables for curry we need to buy,
For this I shall go to market now.
Like we go to market with money,
We come to this Earth with virtue,
Spending virtue we get happiness,
Life's journey is pleasant here.
Let me go to market to meet friends,
We can share views and learn,
The art of living in different corners,
I shall observe in market with vision.

Sometimes I visit our nearby city market. It remains rush. Due to COVID we are not going there.
Very effective refrain of 'Let me go to market' in the first, third and fourth stanzas. To go to the market with money to spend opens up the poem to very wide possibilities. There are essential groceries to buy-like flour and curry-but also it is a place to talk to friends. 'I shall observe in market with vision'. I want to go to the market now.
