Let Us Smile Poem by Akhtar Jawad

Let Us Smile

Rating: 5.0

I feel too old when I am crying,
when smile I look like a teen aged boy,
don't come to me whenever I cry,
play if you can with a laughing toy.

One thing you can do sweetheart anytime,
you can titillate, can wipe the tears,
can make me smile like a naughty juvenile,
can erase at least my forty eight years!

(About forty nine years ago I was married)

And, let us care for each other on earth. Nice work.

So true! When we cry and are in sorrow, the wrinkles on our face grow so marked. But when we smile, the face will attain a new sheen and we will look much younger! The need for a smiling face and the effect of a pleasant attitude to life are beautifully expressed!

Do not interact with the sad, old part of me; come enjoy the young boy that is still there when he shows himself

Not only children and grand children, your straggles will also be erased.
