Lewis Carroll Poem by Sylvia Frances Chan

Lewis Carroll

Rating: 3.0

Lewis Carroll

shocked and shaken
my words taken
rise and surprise
my worlds arise
Lewis Carroll very wise
a genius in arithmetic
his diaries oh so hectic

many dates disappeared after his death
by whom?
not by me
but by his own dear family,

Lewis Carroll
a fervent photographer,
my world is upside down
the biggest frown
he left behind many nudes of very young girls

Lewis
and his world-famous fairytale Alice
a true portrait
about this very very young
girlfriend
aged ten,
as told by his biographer
Lewis Carroll
an avid photographer
but he suffered severely from migraine
and epileptica
and what we call
pedophilia.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This pseudonym was a play on his real name; Lewis was the anglicised form of Ludovicus, which was the Latin for Lutwidge, and Carroll an Irish surname similar to the Latin name Carolus, from which the name Charles comes. Charles Lutwidge Dodgson= Lewis Carroll Cohen and other biographers argue that Dodgson may have wanted to marry the 11-year-old Alice Liddell, His special intense attention for the daughters of the Liddell family from 11 to 14 years old, the fairytale ALICE based upon the true Alice Liddell, ten years old, when she became 11 years old he wished to marry her, his many photographs of very young nude girls and semi nudes, led to the conclusion he was a pedophile
