Liberty is,
To be able to get up in the morning,
And say, I am this
I am me and my individuality,
And I have a right to be,
As long as I respect,
The rights of others,
And act responsibly,
Respectfully,
And realize,
That nothing in life is free,
Nothing of value,
Nothing that will really last,
Can be gotten without toil and suffering,
That is what precious Liberty,
Is to me.

I totally agree with this poem. Sandra you are one of the best poets on this site, par none, so keep on writing. I like the way you write and your gentle spirit. I am not like this at all and state my position emphatically. Very hard hitting, I am Irish and I don't know maybe that's part of it. My wife who passed away in 2003 (she was Jewish, by ethnicity shall I put it that way and I take it you are too with a name like Feldman) was also a woman with a gentle spirit, kind of a yin to my yang.
