Life's Rich Tapestry Poem by David Wood

Life's Rich Tapestry

Rating: 5.0

Walking around the marina
I saw a couple in front of me
Meet each other with a kiss.
I smiled as I walked past
Thinking of someone I fell
For last year, though we only
Passed like ships in the night.

Where only eye contact was
Made, but whose lips I'd long
To kiss, whose body I longed
To hold close to me, whose
Soft brown eyes I could lose
Myself in, her blonde hair was
Like a warm summer's day,

And for a long moment I was
Lost deep in thought and my
Heart skipped a beat. Those
Feelings I know won't go away,
They have to be suppressed.
Life is a rich tapestry. We'll never
Understand life's true course.
