Like A Dream Poem by Laquory Jones

Like A Dream

Verse 1
Sometimes it feels like a dream
I don't think you'll ever truly understand
How much you really mean to me
You're the locket and its key
Roses in the spring
Raining showers up in April
You're like the legs upon my table
I admit some nights I'm not even able
To talk out my feelings as they become so
Revealing perhaps I'm in need of healing

Verse 2
Things in life has me reeling
I know as an artist you have to paint
These pictures I've started the peeling
Back of the curtains perhaps you can
See how much that I'm truly hurting

Verse 3
People say that pain has a way of teaching
Well no doubt that I'm learning
Your closeness is what I'm yearning
Ever since you've died I've been fuming
Lately it's like in life I've been losing

Verse 4
It kind of started when I lost you
It wasn't either of our faults though
You were the glue to our bond ooh
There's no way I could ever doubt it
When I'm lost I find myself thinking
About you you're like the glimmer
Of light through the darkness
It can't help but to shine through

Verse 5
Candle-lighting within the monsoons
Doing anything to remind you
As you travel through the waves of time
Just know that you'll never be left behind
And as life flashes through your eyes
I hope you keep the memories of
You and I tightly guarded deep inside
