Limerick: That Darn Doctor

That darn doctor's a cad without par:
She's depriving old Wes of his car!
I agree, he is old,
but he's fearless and bold,
And he says he won't drive very far!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
My friend Wes Vogler and his wife Donna have had their driving privileges supended by a doctor. Wes says this doctor has a bias against elderly people on the road and that the exam was given at a time when both of them had the flu, so he thinks the decision was unfair. He may challenge it later, but says he doesn't have much hope for a reversal.

We're all cheering for you, Wes!

Of course old Wes would NOT get far, as, soon as he starts, he'd hit MY car, and ruin MY day, for he is TOO OLD … to drive a car, though HE may be bold. I feel sorry for him, as I'm getting old too, and don't blame him a bit, if he feels blue. I know you, Kim, believe in God, but I do say: " God, get off your. Send help our way! " bri :)
