Limerick's For Bri (Edwards) Poem by Jayne Louise Davies

Limerick's For Bri (Edwards)

Rating: 5.0

There's this old fella called Bri,
He's an antagonising guy,
He's as sharp as they come,
Words roll off his tongue,
And his comments can be rather dry.

If ever you're writing a poem,
Be careful where you are going,
Don't forget the full stops,
For Bri's like a cop,
He'll correct you before you know it!

Underneath he's a softie you know,
In his showcase he likes to show,
His favourite rhymes,
He's picked some of mine!
That's why I like him so :)

These three Limericks read like a bribe to Bri Wordophile Edwards for selecting more of your poems for his future showcases… I'd try to believe it is not….

this gave me a GOOD laugh. Yes, I KNOW I failed to capitalize (capitalise-if-wish) the first word of this sentence. I, Bri, may break any (Ianguage) rule I wish to.

I 'went looking' for a poem from Jayne's gentle hands, and just 'happened upon' this one. Lucky me. Lucky Jayne! Actually not ALL of my showcased poems 'rhyme'. 5 stars. : )

P.S. More than words roll off my tongue some days. You probably wouldn't like seeing it. MAYBE stanza 3 is my favorite/favourite and most honest! ! ! : ) bri

**** 3 (?) definitions for 'fly the coop': 'fly the coop verb To depart hastily or unannounced; to escape or flee. To escape from a pen or similar enclosure. Flee; take to one's heels; cut and run.
