Mattie was
A gifted child.
So loveable.
Polite and mild.
In his life,
And in his toil—
A role model
For us all.
He lived, worked,
And loved play,
And was unique
In every way.
His words still ring
In every town—
Lifting those
Who are down.
Mattie Stepanek,
A poet was he;
A child prodigy,
Meant to be.
