Little Willie went to fish
down by the river's slippery shore.
His classmates got their fondest wish,
for Willie has come back no more.

I would like to translate this poem
Willie has departed, and you have departed from the couplet form. That's OK, and Willie will be resurrected soon, I predict.
Not all Little Willies are couplet form, as evidenced by the eight I found in that old book. I have three more ready to post right now, and one of them is a limerick (in honor of Wes Vogler, of course) . Yes, of course, Willie will be back. He has been dispatched in various ways, but always appears again. He has more lives than a cat.
