Lonely Dove Poem by MUSAWIR RAAKH

Lonely Dove

Rating: 5.0

Once I planned to do some HUNT,
So I set out to the forest AFOOT.

All of a sudden, I saw a couple of DOVE
I aimed perfectly, they were looking ABOVE

I pulled the trigger, made the SHOW,
Both blood, started to FLOW.

Flapping feathers couldn't carry the PREY
I slashed their necks in a brutal WAY.

I longed to see, who would DARE,
Soon a lonely DOVE came, without CARE.

I aimed at her, but couldn't FIRE,
When I sensed of that alone's DESIRE.

She was all alone, like I was LONELY
Such as her family was killed like my FAMILY.

It reminded me of mine, who were killed in WAR,
Such as I slaughtered doves so FAR.

I noticed the alone, took self SINNER,
Because I was, her family's KILLER.

Living like me, she used to CRAVE.
Friends like me, she wanted to HAVE.

So I broke my gun, abandoned HUNTING,
And no more viewed, lonely DOVE FLYING.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
THIS POEM IS DEPICTED FROM MY REAL LIFE INCIDENT, WHEN I HUNTED A BIRD AND JUST AFTER THAT I SAW A LONELY BIRD. I IMAGINED THAT WHAT IF I HADN'T HUNTED THE EARLIER BIRD, THAN IT WOULD'VE BEEN A COUPLE, RATHER THAN A LONELY BIRD
