Long Distance Love Affair. Poem by Geoffrey Fafard

Long Distance Love Affair.

Rating: 5.0

"I will always love you darling" she crooned.
"As long as you stay true to me"
"Oh how sweet you are I wish you were closer"
he whispered.
Meanwhile
His eyes looked at the tennis star
on the front page of todays.

You are so good for me
They both stated to each other
Our love will never die
They both stated to each other
But for the tyranny of distance
She thought out loud
"Oh so true" he sighed and replied

That night she had a date
"Anyone in your life"? he asked
"No no" she hastily answered
There was this writer but he is too
Far away and long gone

And as he sat in the bar, alone
The girl next to him blinked then smiled
"You know" he said
"You remind me of a girl I know
But she is too, too far away"
And after all…….

Ah.. human love aint it
Just so magnificent
So contemplative
So so …?
Callously ineffectual!

Hi Geoffrey, beware when casting a rose aside, that thorn will cause much pain.

Actually John until retiring recently I was a Gardener for many many years and I know about roses and their appendages... A beautiful rose caught me off guard many a time...ha ha.So is there a message? ..I think you are right my friend. Cheers and thanks, Geoffrey.
