Long Forgotten Poem by Ishara Parveen

Long Forgotten

Rating: 5.0

Breezing through the wind
in the late summer afternoon
my eyes hastened to find
the voice;
that sang of joy, laughter,
fun and happiness.
I quickened my pace
to find my twin sister
my sister, my comrade
in the battles I have fought
against my parents
for a new bicycle, a new
doll and on and on
the list is endless..
there she was
lurking behind the doors
to frighten me, a childhood prank!
‘Hope' was long forgotten…
‘colorful memories' I had with her
were meant to be forgotten
until now…
in this summer air
while the angel of
death awaited me
beyond the horizon…..

Deeply emotional write. Nicely crafted to touch the heart.

This is magnificent. Very well you captivated the reader's thought to your twin sister, all the while you were awaiting an impending death. Indeed masterpiece. Great admirations. Its long reading such good poem.
