Lost Family Poem by Patricia Gale

Lost Family

Every time their paths do cross
A life goes into a tail spin
Functioning day to day is a ghost who walks
Coming to rescue when the phone does ring
But this life you have chosen is dragging all down to darkest hell
Losing everything but life’s blood for you
Rebuilding the world and now its falling down again

A heart and soul is connected to yours
Praying for the severance and your life
Walking away will it doom life with regret?
But how does a one cut the ties from one she has given life too?
Is it that the fault lies within, could they have changed this path?
Has time rewritten its course and payment for past sins must be made?
Answers must soon come before a family’s soul is lost
Prayer is all that is left to save their minds

Whence thou prays at night
Least not we forget the young life’s that have turned away
From what the true meaning of love is
Gentle and kind and forgiving
The ones who are lost in broken promises of control
Who can not see the light and doom their family’s hearts
