Love's Refugee Poem by Eila Mahima Jaipaul

Love's Refugee

Rating: 5.0

I am a refugee
harried from my home
sent wandering
by the belief
that love
has broken every bond
that held me
hunched against
the cold and empty days alone
face haggard and defeated
I stare, dull eyed
letting myself be buffeted
by the flow of routine
around me.
