Loved - Poem by charles jarvis

Love is in my heart
As time goes by it slowly empties
And fills the hearts of those I love
Usually it gets filled back up
By those who have love for me
But today my heart is dry
For I have lost my river
In which her love flowed
Cascading into my heart
but as I heard her say
She didn't love me anymore
The river stopped
And My heart emptied
As I gave it all back
Now I sit with a shriveled heart
Waiting for the drought to end
And to have a shower of love
For my heart to soak up
