Make Her Go Away - Poem by Dee Daffodil

Mom! !
Make her go away-
She's botherin me again!

You want to play-
You say?

But only for the day.

I don't commit.

My mind goes in a couple of different directions as I read this one. I could take it literally, but the last two lines lead me to believe it is a metaphor. I picture a young woman still cloaked in childhood feelings and fears... unwilling to commit to a lover. Enlighten me please on this one, Dee. Thanks.
