Mari Esfahani.... Poem by Sylvia Frances Chan

Mari Esfahani....

Rating: 3.0

Mari Esfahani comes from Iran
She wants to be baptized in my church

I asked her why she wants to be baptized so eagerly
She and her family are moslems.

Mari replies: since Jesus can do miracles and Mohammed not
She is fond of the stories in the Bible and loves to read it oft.
She, her husband and their kids are baptized in our church.

I still remember her:
after being baptized she looks very happy.
All members of our church embrace her and felicitate.
Coffee and delicious cake for all members.

That was many many years ago.

Now her kids have become adults and have their own kids
Mari is grandmother now, her husband grandfather

The Dutch language is very difficult to learn,
especially when her mother tongue is pharsi.

Mari and I are always conversing in Dutch
She speaks Dutch like she is born here.

The Netherlands has given she and her husband (also her kids)political asylum

I am very touched that she and her entire family have become christians.
She loves reading, especially the many many wonders Jesus did in the Holy Bible.

This is Mari who resides with her family near my hometown.
She loves the Netherlands. No war here, her husband was almost
murdered in Iran.

Long story to tell, Mari said. Better I tell you about Jesus
as our life companion and how He keeps blessing us

She loves Jesus very much
and she has grown in Jesus.

Great peace always fills her heart.
She is the Light at her home. She looks more beautiful now.

Amen
