Marital Bliss Poem by Ruta Mohapatra

Marital Bliss

An old couple sat on a bench in a park
Side by side but a little apart
The sun's slanting afternoon rays
Glistened on their silver heads

The man was lost in a book he was reading
His walking stick by his side lying
The woman was lost in a world of her own
Looking at a child playing alone

No words passed between them as they sat
Save for an occasional smile and an exchange of glance
They sat till the light faded on the west
And the birds twittering returned to their nests

It is a beautiful poem a on attachment having stunning expression with nice collocation. The couple sitting on bench in the park enjoyed love and attachment though they have different outlook. Nice work. Thanks for sharing.10
