Maximizing Life Poem by Walterrean Salley

Maximizing Life

Rating: 5.0

Who am I? Why am I here?
What am I suppose to be?
Have I claimed my place in life?
The spot that’s reserved for me?

Have I given it my all
To reach the ultimate height
While humbly walking in the path
That brings to me pure light?

Or am I satisfied with self,
Thus shorting out my goal—
Not being all that I should be
Within this human fold.

Oh, I must strive to do my best
With all the might I can
To make life better for self
And for my fellowman.
