Metamorphosis Poem by Leslie Alexis

Metamorphosis

I await metamorphosis:
The stage that every butterfly
And swan must go through.
The stage of maturing,
Where the dotted skin
Is replaced by rainbow strips;
Dusty feathers take shine
And the globular takes fine
Cuts, like diamond.
