Mexican Soul Mate Poem by Richard Wlodarski

Mexican Soul Mate

Rating: 5.0

Mexican Soul Mate

Lying on the beach
Feeling sands of time
Witnessing history
As your Mexican blood
Courses through my rich veins
And touches our souls

You've managed to link Zapata and Sasha Montenegro in one perfect verse to Mexico's treasures. Brilliant, Richard.

2) cont'd: This poem was initially part of the Cuba Series. I decided to include it in Kerouac Lives as a tribute poem to Kerouac's Mexican lover. Fascinating how just one word can provide a whole new meaning to a poem.

M.J., as always, I greatly appreciate your insightful comments. Although I can see how you arrived at your interpretation, it's actually part of the Kerouac Lives series.
