Mia - Poem by Kimi Regpala
When facing a world full of judgment
And all the pressures of being thin
It’s difficult to truly love yourself;
To find beauty from within
When facing a world full of judgment
Where acceptance is defined by your weight
It’s easy to feel defeated
From the years of crippling self hate
There’s a monster living inside me
She’s been hiding for 23 years
Literally starving for attention
Mia takes over all of my fears
When facing a world full of judgment;
Sometimes I struggle to make it through the night
Recovery is a constant uphill battle
when an eating disorder controls your life.
