Mirrors - Poem by Ala Kathleen
I stare -
I see a reflection in the mirror.
There is a room full of mirrors.
The illusion of a crowd,
Movement but no sound,
And there is only one -
Solitary, whiplashed from the effort
Of searching for a companion.
No one to the left,
Not a soul to the right.
It is an endless and exhausting fight.
Behind and in front lie empty space.
So many eyes leading to just one face.
Alone, in tears,
In a cluttered rooom full of mirrors.
