Miss Negative Poem by Paula Glynn

Miss Negative

Always look on the bright side of life
Isn't a motto you follow
You mourn your lost tomorrow
You only feel sadness and sorrow
The impossible childhood rainbow you long to follow.

Other people always the enemy
And you do hopelessly plea
To have your way finally:
But finally never arrives
And your love has died.

You cry: never feel the laughter
You mourn your lost happily ever after
You lie in bed at night wondering:
Wondering where you went wrong
Why you are the weakest and never strong.

But the truth is much simpler:
That helping yourself feel inner worth
Showing people you belong on this earth
Knowing you have inner personal power
Showing you aren't crying anymore.

Wising up to their dirty yet clever tricks
Knowing their horrible and manipulative game
Showing you are not them: not the same
For you are not gullible and mustn't feel shame
Because you can change permanently to Miss Positive.
