Missed It Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Missed It

The boat.
The plane.
The train.
And that opportunity,
To climb aboard.
With a doing to accept,
Fresh and new dramatic change.
But too much time,
You wasted to find...
Reasons to occupy your mind,
Complaining to whine.
As if this for you,
Makes all the difference made.

Well...
Missed it you did.
And not alone are you,
To keep this unproductive point of view.
There are many still,
Dismissing opportunities to them they get.
Who missed the boat.
That high flying plane.
And a train speeding away from them quick.
Each announced loudly,
Where to aboard them.
Long before they came.
To ignore those messages or not to hear.
Yet...
No one can say,
They did not with open eyes watch...
What came to go away from them,
Coming.
As if to await,
For decisions to make.
Before within seconds,
Their opportunities disappeared.

"That's not fair.
No one told us we should stay prepared! "
