Missing A Friend - Poem by Lori Paparteys

Won’t go away
Missing you more and more

Fills every day
Wondering why we went our separate ways

Wishing things were different
Wishing things didn’t change
Missing our chats
Missing our conversations
Hoping we can still be friends thru the darkness

Missing my best friend so much it hurts
Wishing that your life didn’t become complicated
Wishing I could be there for you
Wishing I didn’t get shoved away
Wishing your life would go back to normal and we can be like we were
Knowing it never will

Wishing I could turn back the hands of time
To happier days
Before things went wrong
Earthquake it seemed
Made us reevaluate our lives
And rethink our perspectives

Hoping God will see us thru
And we can be close friends as we were
Before your life became complicated
And we went our separate ways
