Missing Things Poem by Midnight Clarity

Missing Things

Rating: 5.0

A touch, a whisper in my ear
the sense that told me
you were near
the smile that lit
your eyes, your face
the silly hat
so out of place
the heat of passion
that we shared
the truths, the fantasies
we bared, each one
of these things
calls you back
behind my eyes,
a painful lack
that roots me
ties me to the past
holds me fast
with bitter claws
embedded down
to bone.
So much to be unwoven
threads undone
to let my soul stretch
in the sun of love
and cherish yet to come
in future days.

I will not miss you
I will not let you
take my future.
