Moirae - Poem by Jackie Peit

through this world I’ve stumbled,
Solitude my guide.
I offer up myself, my love
but so many times betrayed, so many times denied.

two fragile strands of destiny,
each unsuspecting, unaware,
by fickle Fate entangled,
to be star-crossed lovers is the curse we share.

in our bed I feel the stars align
where I breathe your breath to keep alive.
I dread the lonely light of morning-
without you, I’m not fated to survive

I pray our paths will come together,
I pray that we might walk in stride.
for the promise of your boundless love,
to the end of the earth, I’d follow you with pride.
