Monsters - Poem by Harley Gatten

Some monsters are Good
Some monsters are Bad

The Good monsters influence you to the point you do a good thing
And the monster aides you on your journey to confidence

The Bad monsters have a few goals:
To tear you down
To strip your self confidence
And to kick you while your down

You'll beg the Bad monsters to let you be
But that fuels their intent
So they keep pushing you to the edge
Until your dangling at the drop off

You grip for those last strands of hope
And the brittleness of the strands break under the weight of your fingertips
You'll scream until your voice gives out,
Then the monster attacks

As you fall into open space
To your untimely death
You look up to find Him,
The one you fell for, in more ways then one
