Moon Struck Poem by saadat tahir

Moon Struck

Rating: 5.0

I lay by the river and gaze
Mulling upon the life’s phase

The daisies and the grass
Forgotten how times will pass

The river lapping at the side
Shall I ask her to be my bride

Will I for ever Chase the flow
Remembering her face aglow

Or shall we walk holding hands
Down the aisle in fragrant lands

Pluck a flower to pick its petal
Wondering when life will settle

A warbler on the side twitters
In warrens my thought dithers

The cuckoo now gathers an dips
Remember her an I purse my lips

Wish I only for your tender cheek
Oh no! its you whole that I seek

Wren cozies to a hen on perch
Loony an lonely I left in a lurch
