Mornings Arrive Poem by Smoky Hoss

Mornings Arrive

Rating: 5.0

Mornings arrive
like a train emerging from a long, dark tunnel;
the light is still on
but quickly becomes unnoticeable-
You arise
passing from the foggy depths of mystery,
putting your feet down on familiar ground
walking away from it all,
recalling nothing-
The sun shines
on the dry land of reality,
and not one drop of water remains on your skin
from the wild waves you swam upon
through the night-

Everything moves
in opposing directions.
You may, if fortunate, measure the loss momentarily,
finding the unknown in mere fractions,
noting for much later
the possibilities of grandeur
in the divine Presence upon dreams-

Mornings arrive.
Dreams depart.
The brain revives, temporarily
defeating the heart-

Hey, Smoky! Hoping this finds you tip top. I especially like in the first stanza the image of the train emerging from a tunnel—I relate. Sometimes dreams warm us and uplift us as you write here. Then there are times I’m glad to wake up to the real. -Glen

Smoky Hoss, you have a way with words- - - - ] Mornings arrive / like a train emerging from a long, dark tunnel; You are so rewarding to read, both in the sheer poetry of your verses but the sheer reality you cause us to step into.10++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The imagery in this one is great. A dream is after all a suspension of reality. An escape to a different and often nicer plane. Enjoyed this one Smoky.
